Candesartan blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in many tissues, such as vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland.

Indications:
• Treat high blood pressure, also called hypertension.
• Treat heart failure.
• Used in combination with other medicines to treat your condition.

Active Ingredient:
Candesartan.

Side effects:
• Runny or stuffy nose.
• Sore throat.
• Cough.
• Back pain.
• Joint pain.
• Stomach pain.
• Diarrhea.
• Headache.

Cautions:
• Hypersensitivity to any component of Atacand.
• Pregnancy and lactation.
• Severe hepatic impairment and/or cholestasis.
• The use of Atacand in combination with aliskiren containing medicines in patients with diabetes.
mellitus (type I or II) or with moderate to severe renal impairment (GFR < 60 ml/min/1.73 m2.

Interactions:
Dual blockade of the renin angiotensin aldosterone system and Lithium.

How to use :
Taken once daily with or without food.
